디젤 산화촉매장치(DOC : Diesel Oxidation Catalyst)는 Wire Mesh type의 담체에 촉매를 담지하여 경유차량에서 배출되는 입자상물질(PM)을 촉매반응에 의해 연소시키는 장치이다.
촉매 코팅된 Wire Mesh는 배기가스 중의 CO, HC와 입자상물질 중의 용해성유기물 (Soluble Organic Fraction ; SOF)을 산화시키고, 이 산화열을 이용하여 Wire Mesh에 일부 포집되는 입자상물질(PM)을 연소시키는 기능을 한다.
